Clare Knapp, PhD, serves as a Housing Economist at the Austin Board of REALTORS® since March 2023, after working as an Assistant Research Economist at the Texas Real Estate Research Center from September 2016 to March 2023. Clare designed and executed research projects focused on housing affordability and homeownership, utilizing econometric and statistical models for special case studies across Texas. Previous experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where research examined homeowner mobility decisions post-disaster and the impact of neighborhood walkability on affordable housing residents' health and costs. Other notable internships involved market research and financial reporting for organizations such as AQUILA Commercial, Habitat for Humanity, Titan Commercial Valuation, and Literacy Texas. Clare holds a PhD in Urban and Regional Science from Texas A&M University, along with degrees in Land Economics & Real Estate Finance and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas at Austin.
