Lee Hyland

Councillor for NSW at Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers

Lee is deputy principal at a comprehensive rural public high school in NSW with over 25 years teaching experience across multiple disciplines. Lee has extensive experience on the executive committee of the Mathematical Association on New South Wales (MANSW) and is the current President, as well as the Riverina Maths Association (now a cluster of MANSW). Lee is on the MANSW Secondary committee, Leaders of Mathematics committee and a board representative on the Rural Teachers of Mathematics Network Initiative. Lee is also a MANSW representative on the Professional Teachers Council of NSW.

Lee has presented at conferences including AAMT, MANSW & RMA on teaching in a rural context.

Lee has a passion for ensuring that rural students and teachers have access to opportunities to further their education despite any disadvantage due to location and socio-economic situations.
