Dr. Catriona Davis-McCabe

Dr. Catriona Davis-McCabe has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of psychology. Dr. Catriona currently holds the position of President at the Australian Psychological Society (APS), where they have been serving since November 2022. Previously, they served as the President-Elect and National Chair of the APS College of Counselling Psychologists.

Dr. Davis-McCabe is also a Non-Executive Director at Allied Health Professions Australia since July 2022. Dr. Catriona has been associated with Curtin University since 2014, where they have held various roles including Adjunct-Senior Lecturer/Researcher, Program Director for the Master of Psychology (Professional), and Senior Lecturer in Counselling Psychology.

Prior to their roles at Curtin University, Dr. Davis-McCabe worked as a Counselling Psychologist at Perth Therapy and held the position of Executive Chair at the Association of Counselling Psychologists. Dr. Catriona has also worked as a Senior Lecturer in Counselling Psychology at Teesside University and a Clinical Director/HCPC Registered Counselling Psychologist at Newcastle Therapy.

In addition, Dr. Davis-McCabe has worked as a Counselling Psychologist at Expert Psychological Reports and CBT Clinics. Dr. Catriona also served as a Counselling Psychologist at the Teesside University Counselling Service.

Dr. Catriona Davis-McCabe has a diverse education history. In 1998, they earned a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from the University of Sunderland. Dr. Catriona then obtained a Certificate in Counselling from Newcastle University in 2002. Dr. Davis-McCabe continued their studies at Teesside University, completing a Postgraduate Diploma/Masters in Counselling Psychology from 2003 to 2005. Dr. Catriona further pursued a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at Teesside University from 2006 to 2009. In 2012, they obtained a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Teesside University. Dr. Davis-McCabe is also currently pursuing additional education at the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
