Karen Tyrell

Karen has 20 years experience of working in senior charity roles. In her day job, Karen is an Executive Director, at Humankind national drug, alcohol, and homelessness charity. She is responsible for a range of corporate services including finance, HR, and the wider profile and influence.

Karen been involved in communications and marketing at a senior level for many years. Prior to joining Humankind, she worked at Addaction as part of the Executive Team, and before that, she worked for KCA as Director of Development and Marketing, which included responsibility for mergers and acquisitions. She began her career as a drug worker, having started out as a volunteer.

Karen bring a detailed knowledge of how charities run as well as knowledge of business development, media, and marketing to bear for Avalon Group. She loves being involved in new things and am passionate about helping charities to grow and develop.
