Dr Amit N. Thakker is an accomplished healthcare leader with extensive experience in multiple roles across the healthcare sector in Kenya and Africa. Currently serving as Chairperson of the Board at the Kenya Health Professions Oversight Authority since July 2022, Dr Thakker is responsible for promoting quality healthcare services. As Executive Chairman of Africa Health Business and Chairman of the Africa Healthcare Federation, Dr Thakker advocates for the private health sector across 45 African countries. Additionally, as a co-founder of Avenue Healthcare, the focus has been on providing accessible health services. Dr Thakker's previous leadership roles include Chairman of the Kenya Healthcare Federation and Director positions at LumiraDx and Ghanima Limited. Dr Thakker holds an MBChB in Medicine from the University of Nairobi and an eMBA Certificate in Strategic Issues from the National Insurance Academy, among other educational qualifications.
