Derek Schmidt

Derek Schmidt has extensive experience in package engineering, development, and design. Derek started their career at Estee Lauder in 2001 as the Director of Package Development and worked there until 2005. Derek then joined LOREAL USA as the Metier Director of Packaging, where they oversaw luxury skincare brands and managed technical teams for 13 years. In 2018, Derek moved on to become the Executive Director of Package Engineering, Development, & Design at both The Avon Company and LG Household & Health Care, Ltd., where they led teams and managed various aspects of packaging engineering and integration.

Derek Schmidt pursued their bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1988 to 1993 at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Derek continued their education at the same institute and obtained their master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from 1993 to 1994.
