Petra Miikkulainen

Petra Miikkulainen has a diverse work experience. Petra is currently working at The Baker Company as the International Sales Manager for EMEA, specifically for Baker Ruskinn. Prior to that, they worked at RAMCON as a Product Specialist for the Nordic countries. In addition to their industry experience, Petra also has research experience. Petra worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Turun yliopisto - University of Turku and as a Graduate Student in the Turku Doctoral Programme in Molecular Medicine. Petra also served as a Coordinator for an international Master's degree program at the same university, where they were involved in education management, networking, marketing, and coordination of funding applications. Before that, Petra worked as a Research Assistant at Coxa Oy, University of Tampere, and BBS-Bioactive Bone Substitutes Oy in various research and laboratory roles.

Petra Miikkulainen started their education by earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Laboratory Sciences from Pirkanmaa Polytechnic in 2009. During this time, they also participated in an Erasmus exchange course at IMC Krems, where they focused on new materials and technologies in chemistry and biotechnology.

Petra then continued their studies at the University of Turku, where they obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biomedical Imaging from 2011 to 2013. Following their master's degree, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Medical Biochemistry and Genetics at the University of Turku from 2013 to 2018.

In addition to their formal degrees, Petra Miikkulainen attended a practical course on Targeted Quantitative Proteomics in 2015 at the University of Washington.
