Prior experience includes a managerial role in College Savings Programs at the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer from February 2005 to June 2014, where responsibilities included overseeing multi-billion dollar investment portfolios. Additional roles at the Treasurer’s Office involved compliance, reporting, and analysis for Illinois 529 College Savings Programs. Deon also contributed to academia as an adjunct professor at Millikin University and an adjunct instructor at Lincoln Land Community College. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois Springfield and a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Louis University.
