Patrick McCaslin is an emerging data journalist currently serving as a Data Journalism Intern at The Baltimore Banner since June 2025. Previously, Patrick worked as a Freelance Writer for the Miami New Times, where an election map created in 2024 ranked as the 11th most viewed online story. Experience includes various roles at The Miami Hurricane, such as Business Manager, News Reporter, News Editor, and Assistant News Editor, during which Patrick contributed over 60 stories and received multiple awards for reporting. Additional internships at Coral Gables Magazine, WSVN-TV 7News, and Impact.Edition provided diverse opportunities in journalism, while tutoring at On Point Tutoring demonstrated a commitment to education. Patrick holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Miami with majors in Mathematics, Political Science, and Computer Science, and a minor in Economics.
