Sarah Kavanagh

Sarah Kavanagh is an experienced communications professional currently serving as the Head of Media and Communications at The Bar Council of England and Wales since October 2021. Previously, Sarah held the role of Communications Manager and Senior Campaigns & Communications Officer at the National Union of Journalists from May 2010 to October 2021. Earlier experience includes positions as Campaigns Officer at the Public and Commercial Services Union and Local Campaigns Officer at Shelter UK, as well as Campaigns & Communications Officer at Goldsmiths Students' Union. Sarah Kavanagh holds a Master's degree in International Labour and Trade Union Studies from Ruskin College, Oxford, and a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Goldsmiths, University of London.
