John Madden is an accomplished barrister-at-law with extensive legal experience. Currently serving at The Law Library since 2011, John has previously contributed to the UNHCR's Protection Department for a brief period in late 2008 and early 2009, as well as to Airbus in Programmes Quality and Internal Audit from June 2005 to February 2006. John's academic background includes a Barrister at Law Degree from The Honorable Society of King's Inns, a Master of Laws (LLM) from University College Cork, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Limerick, complemented by studies in Law, French, and Sociology. Education also includes a foundational period at Our Lady's Secondary School from 1998 to 2003.

Its role is: to consider, report upon and make representations as it considers necessary in all matters affecting the profession; to play a key role in the conduct and arrangement of the business of the profession;to control and regulate the professional conduct of the members of the Bar; and, to secure and protect the interests of the profession.
