Paul D Maier is a lecturer and barrister-at-law with a strong focus on employment and labor law. Currently serving as a fixed-term lecturer at Dublin City University, Maier teaches contract law to second-year students and has also held positions at University College Dublin and City Colleges as a lecturer. In addition to lecturing, Maier serves as treasurer of the Employment Bar Association and conducts webinars on employment law topics. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Industrial Relations Officer with the Irish Medical Organisation, and positions in various education and tech companies, as well as research fellowships at Cornell University. Maier holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University and several legal qualifications from The Honorable Society of King's Inns and University College Dublin.

Its role is: to consider, report upon and make representations as it considers necessary in all matters affecting the profession; to play a key role in the conduct and arrangement of the business of the profession;to control and regulate the professional conduct of the members of the Bar; and, to secure and protect the interests of the profession.
