Michael Mao

Michael Mao is an accomplished investment analyst currently with The Baupost Group, having joined the firm in November 2023. Prior to this role, Michael served as a Senior Associate and Associate at Centerbridge Partners, L.P. from August 2021 to November 2023. Michael gained valuable experience as an Investment Banking Analyst at Moelis & Company from July 2019 to July 2021, and previously completed a summer analyst position with the same firm in 2018. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, graduating with Distinction and Summa Cum Laude from Yale University in 2019, and has also pursued studies at The London School of Economics and Political Science. Early education was completed at Scotch College in Melbourne, Australia.
