Rusty Howson

Rusty Howson is an experienced educator and designer currently serving as an Engineering and Design Teacher at The Bay School of San Francisco since January 2024. With a diverse background, Rusty owns and operates Redox Design as a Designer and Fabricator since 2004, and previously instructed welding at The Crucible from 2006 to 2020. Additional roles include Information Graphics Designer at Gartner Research Board, Scientific Designer at the Joint Genome Institute, and Graphics Editor for Annual Reviews, among others. Rusty earned a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of California, San Francisco and a BS in Aquatic Biology from Brown University, complemented by an education at Laney College and San Francisco University High School.
