Riashin Pillay has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Starting in 2007, they served as the Managing Director of Stationery and Paper World South Africa, where they managed government contracts with various parastatals. From 2014 to 2018, they were the Chief Executive Officer of The Vikayen Group (Pty) Ltd, specializing in growing the company's manufacturing division and securing contracts in the mining sectors. In 2018, they became the Group CEO of Link Mining Africa (Pty) Ltd, where they headed the company's global division of Mining Support Systems until the company was acquired in 2022. Riashin then co-founded The Beauty Bag, where they held roles as the Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder, and Chief Operation Officer from 2018 to 2022. In 2021, they joined Link International Brands as an Executive Director and later became the Chairman of the Board in 2023. Additionally, in 2022, they also worked as an Executive at Strip Makeup.
Riashin Pillay holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Business Administration and Management from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. Riashin also has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the same institution. Riashin completed their high school education and obtained a High School Diploma from St Dunstan's College in Benoni. Additionally, they have acquired several certifications in various fields, including The Law and Economics of Mergers and Acquisitions from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and certifications in Brand and Product Management, Commercial and Contract Law, Pastel Accounting, Payroll and Tax Administration, and Teaching of Music Comprehensive K-12 from various institutions.
