Matthew Canei has a diverse range of work experience in the field of technical art and game development. Matthew currently holds the role of Principal Technical Artist at The Believer Company. Prior to this, they worked at ILM Immersive as a Lead Technical Artist, where they were responsible for performance optimization and Unreal Engine best practices for various projects, including Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge - Enhanced Edition. Before that, Matthew was a Senior Technical Artist at Tripwire Interactive LLC, where they focused on game performance, visual R&D, and maintaining material libraries. Matthew also worked as a Technical Artist at Hi-Rez Studios, where they contributed to projects such as SMITE and Paladins, and conducted performance analysis and optimization of game assets. Additionally, Matthew co-founded and served as the Creative/Art Director and Lead Environment Artist at +MPact Games, LLC., overseeing the successful completion of the indie game project titled Hanako: Honor & Blade. Matthew's early experience includes an internship at Hi-Rez Studios as an Environment Art Intern. Overall, Matthew Canei has a strong background in technical art and has contributed to various successful projects throughout their career.

Matthew Canei attended Savannah College of Art and Design from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interactive Design and Game Development.
