Dr. Adel Salem

Dr. Adel Salem currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer at Albaraka Islamic Bank, a position held since November 2023. Previously, Dr. Salem worked at BBK (Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait) from January 2018 to December 2023 in various roles including Assistant General Manager, Head of Retail, and General Manager. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy General Manager at The BENEFIT Company from April 2007 to December 2017, and roles at BBK from March 2001 to April 2007, focusing on retail banking and electronic channels. Early career experience includes serving as Sales Marketing Manager at Jarisey in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Salem holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Banking Retail from Monarch University, along with a Master's Degree in Banking and Financial Support Services from Monarch University in Switzerland, and an MBA in Banking and Financial Support Services from the University of Glamorgan.
