Penelope McCourty has extensive experience in dance education and community programming, currently serving as the Upper and Middle School Dance Teacher at The Berkeley Carroll School since August 2012. Concurrently, Penelope has been an Artist Corps Member at Park Avenue Armory since February 2011 and a Teaching Artist at New Victory Theater since September 2004. Previous roles include Co-Director of Education at Brooklyn Arts Exchange, Director of Programs and Community Center Director at School Settlement Association, and Education Director at BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange. Early career experiences include positions as a Dancer with Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group and Liz Lerman Dance Exchange, as well as roles as a Teacher at Spoke the Hub and Performance Director at Elders Share the Arts. Penelope holds a degree from Hunter College, earned between 1991 and 1994.
