Rose Khasiala Amolo

Rose Khasiala Amolo is a seasoned international health development professional with expertise in community-based and women empowerment strategies that strengthen community systems and structures to promote access to quality primary health care services, education and improve the overall socio-economic status of women, their families and communities.

For the past 15 years, Ms. Amolo worked as a Senior Technical Advisor at the Center For Development and Population Activities (CEDPA), where she focused on improving the quality of services and promoting the uptake and use of integrated family planning, reproductive health, maternal and child health, and HIV/AIDS services. Her work has also focused on training women leaders and building the capacity of women-led civil society organization to provide quality health and social services, advocate for the needs of women, and promote healthy gender relations in communities.

She has served as the Chief of Party of a USAID (PEPFAR)funded HIV/AIDS project, Positive Living Project in Nigeria. She has managed maternal, child health and family planning projects in Ghana, Tanzania, and India. Earlier in her career, she worked at the Gay Man’s Health Crisis in New York, providing nutrition counseling, as well as UNICEF where she contributed on the very heated discussion on whether to breastfeed or not for HIV positive women from the rural and resources poor global south. Rose started her career as an educator in Kenya and Washington DC.

Ms. Amolo holds an MPH in Nutrition, from New York University, Bachelor of Education from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya, and a certificate in monitoring and evaluation from American University, Washington DC. She is a native of Kenya, fluent in Kiswahili.
