Judit Giró Benet is a co-founder and CEO at The Blue Box since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Junior Specialist at the University of California Irvine, Center for Embedded Cyber-physical Systems from August 2020 to November 2021. Before that, they served as a Case Monitoring and Resolution associate engineer at Roche Diagnostics Europe from October 2018 to July 2019.
Judit Giró Benet received a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical engineering from Universitat de Barcelona in 2018. During their undergraduate studies, they also participated in a research internship at Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan, where they conducted research on the role of Cl- homeostasis at the intersynaptic space. In 2018, they completed an Erasmus Exchange program at Universität zu Lübeck, focusing on Biomedical/Medical Engineering. In 2019, Judit enrolled in a Master's program at UC Irvine, where they pursued a degree in Embedded Cyber-Physical Systems, specializing in Cyber/Electronic Operations and Warfare. Additionally, they obtained certifications in German language proficiency, including a C1 Certificate from Escola d'Idiomes Moderns in 2019 and a Zertifikat B1-Sprachteile from Goethe-Institut Barcelona in 2014. Judit also holds a Certificate in Advanced English from Cambridge University Press.

Designed after a dog's olfactory system, The Blue Box is a medical device for low-cost, pain-free, radiation-free breast cancer testing from the smell of urine. The test can be easily operated by a nurse practitioner at any pharmacy/walk-in clinic, such as CVS’s Minute Clinics. It currently detects advanced breast cancer with an accuracyof 95% and early-stage breast cancer with an accuracy of around 65%.
