Mike Baier

Director, Electrical and Software Engineering at The Boring Company

Mike Baier has a diverse work experience in the engineering and robotics industry. In 2008, they served as a Robotic Engineering Intern at Textron. From 2006 to 2011, Mike worked at the Advanced Electronic Technology Center as a Research Assistant/Project Manager, leading a team in the development of a contact-less mobile fingerprinting system. This project received a $500,000 grant from the US National Institute of Justice. In 2011, they co-founded GadgetGoRound and served as the Chief Operating Officer. From 2012 to 2018, Mike held the positions of Principal Electrical Engineer and Director of Hardware Engineering at Vecna Technologies. Mike joined Vecna Robotics in 2018 and assumed the roles of Director of Hardware Engineering and Vice President of Advanced Development, leading teams in the design and testing of innovative solutions for the logistics industry. Currently, Mike is the Director of Electrical and Software Engineering at The Boring Company.

Mike Baier received a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where they studied from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in 2011.
