Bilal Hammoud is a Research Scientist at The Boston Dynamics AI Institute since February 2023, focusing on optimal control for uncertain contact interactions in articulated robots as part of the Machines in Motion Lab under Professor Ludovic Righetti. Previously, Bilal served as a PhD Student at New York University from September 2017 to March 2023 and worked as an Intern at Dextrous Robotics, where a perception and control framework for balancing various boxes on a stick using a 7 DoF manipulator was developed. Bilal also contributed as a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems from January 2017 to December 2020, specializing in robust optimal control within the Movement Generation and Control Group. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Robotics from New York University and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
