David Hanson

David Hanson is the current Chief Financial & Operating Officer at The Branson School. Prior to their current position, they served as the Chief Financial Officer at Phillips Exeter Academy from January 2014 to June 2018. Before that, they were the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Virginia Commonwealth University from July 2011 to January 2014. David also worked at Emory University from May 2001 to June 2010 as the Special Assistant to EVP and Associate Vice President for Administration. Additionally, they have worked for various companies such as Winthrop & Associates, LLC and various others from June 1992 to May 2001 as a JAG Attorney, Federal Law Clerk and Practicing Attorney.

David Hanson has a Doctorate in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, an MBA from Emory University - Goizueta Business School, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the University of Florida, a JD in Law from Ohio Northern University—Claude W. Pettit College of Law, and a Bachelor of Science - BS in Marketing Research from the University of Tampa.
