Derek Brine

Derek Brine is a Partner at The Bridgespan Group, where responsibilities include the development of the organization's inaugural 3-year Technology Roadmap and the initiation of strategy offices at several major U.S. organizations. Previously, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Brine served as Associate Director, successfully leading the creation of a product testing laboratory for developing world products and authoring a $10 million proposal for USAID's Higher Education Solutions Network. As Project Manager within the D-Lab, Brine contributed to transforming a start-up organization into a recognized program while designing initiatives to support social enterprises. Brine is also the Founder of Moringrow, a profitable Kenyan enterprise that produces nutritious Moringa oleifera powder. Additional experience includes work at Stantec as an Environmental Engineering Consultant, and various roles focused on improving agricultural practices and water filtration in developing regions. Brine holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering and International Development Planning from MIT and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University.
