Ashley Trodden's work experience begins in 2010 with Volleyball England, where they served as the Great Britain Sitting Volleyball- Project Roehampton/ Residential Programme Head Coach until 2012. From 2009 to 2013, they worked with the British Volleyball Federation, first as the Great Britain Men's Sitting Volleyball- Assistant Coach and then as the Head Coach for Great Britain Sitting Volleyball (Men). From 2012 to 2018, Trodden worked at Greenhouse Sports, where they served as the Volleyball Head Coach & Mentor and designed and delivered a comprehensive coaching and mentoring program. Trodden then worked as a Physical Education Teacher at Ernest Bevin College from 2018 to 2019, gaining QTS through the Assessment Only route. Currently, they are employed at The British School of Kuwait, starting as a Physical Education Teacher in 2019 and now serving as the Head of Secondary Physical Education.
Ashley Trodden attended London South Bank University from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science. In addition to their degree, Ashley has also earned several certifications in the field of coaching and education. In 2008, they obtained a Volleyball England Level II Coaching Award, and in 2009, they received a Federation Internationale De Volleyball (FIVB) Level I Coaching Award. In 2016, Ashley became a UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) Educator, and in 2017, they obtained both a Sports Leaders UK Tutor certification and a Volleyball England Level III Coaching Award. Most recently, in 2022, Ashley obtained a Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) Level I Beach Volleyball Coaching Award.
