Aleciah Anthony

Director, Community Engagement at The Bronx Defenders

Aleciah Anthony (she/her/hers) has been a leader in the nonprofit sector for over twenty years. Born and raised in the Bronx, she is committed to organizing strategies that sustain the wholeness and vibrancy of BIPOC families and communities. Prior to joining The Bronx Defenders, Aleciah was the Director of Programs at Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies (FPWA) where she launched the Center for Leadership Development and piloted a trauma-informed approach to serve families with criminal legal involvement. Prior to joining FPWA, she was the first African American Executive Director of the Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition, where she worked to advance grassroots campaigns on social and economic justice issues. Aleciah holds a Master of Science in Nonprofit Leadership from Fordham University and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University in African and Urban Studies. Outside of her work at The Bronx Defender, she serves on the board of Girl Vow Inc., a Bronx organization providing mentorship to at-risk and incarcerated young women and girls.
