Karla Ostolaza

Managing Director, Immigration Practice at The Bronx Defenders

Karla Ostolaza serves as the Managing Director of the Immigration Practice at The Bronx Defenders since March 2020, with previous roles including Interim Managing Director and Deputy Director of the same practice. Prior experience includes serving as a Supervising Attorney for the New York Immigrant Family Unity Project at The Legal Aid Society from February 2017 to February 2020 and various positions at The Bronx Defenders from September 2014 to February 2017, including Immigration Attorney and Immigrant Justice Corps Fellow. Karla's legal training began with internships at institutions like the Immigration Justice Clinic at Cardozo School of Law, where a Doctor of Law (J.D.) was earned in 2014, as well as earlier internships at the Legal Aid Society, New York Legal Assistance Group, and the Supreme Court of the State of New York. Karla holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History from Universidad de Puerto Rico, obtained in 2009.
