Lowis Ortega currently serves as a Healthy Parents, Healthy Babies: Focus on Fathers Parent Advocate and a Civil Legal Advocate in the Immigration Practice at The Bronx Defenders since October 2022. Responsibilities include advocating for clients before the Department of Homeland Security and preparing various immigration relief applications, as well as gathering necessary documentation to support clients' cases. Additionally, Lowis Ortega works as a Surrogate Consultant at Common Justice, providing surrogate services for restorative justice circles since May 2025, and holds the position of Board Secretary at the Latino America Unida Foundation, Inc. from April 2023 to July 2025. Lowis Ortega earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Sociology from Binghamton University, completing studies in May 2022.
