Corie Wakai has worked as a Teacher at The Calais School since August 2022. Prior to that, Corie worked as a Special Education Teacher at Fremont Union High School District and as a Behavior Therapist at Strong Foundations. Corie also has experience as a TSS at Adelbrook and as a Teachers Aide at The Goddard School. With a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Arts in Special Education from Ball State University, Corie is well-educated and experienced in the field of special education.

The Calais School
The Calais School is a leading private, non-profit school in special education serving young people in grades Pre-K through 12 Plus since 1970. Our mission is to empower and encourage students with special needs including ADHD, reading and math weaknesses, anxiety and mood disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Calais staff provide a safe, nurturing, and academically challenging environment for students requiring new behavioral and academic strategies in a non-judgmental atmosphere. Students come to Calais by referral from local school districts, therapists, and counselors throughout nine northern New Jersey counties.
