Tamara Nelson is a Registered Nurse at The Camp Recovery Center since October 2019, focusing on health equity, care, and reproductive justice. Previously, Tamara served as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, San Francisco from June 2018 to June 2021 under Dr. Brittany Chambers, PhD. Tamara's experience includes a brief role as a Nurse Midwife Student with Maxim Healthcare Group in disaster healthcare for evacuees and a substantial tenure at Biotie Therapies from March 2007 to June 2019, where responsibilities included regulatory clinical writing and quality assurance. Tamara began their career in the healthcare field as a Midwife Assistant with Cindy Bacon, CPM from January 2006 to January 2009. Educational qualifications include a Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, a Bachelor's degree in Community Studies - Health Justice from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and an Associate’s Degree in Dance and Health Sciences from Cabrillo College, along with certifications in yoga therapy and massage therapy.
