Matt Johns

Matt Johns has a diverse work experience in the education sector and served in various roles throughout their career. Matt is currently the Head of School at The Carmel School since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Commonwealth Academy, starting as a Teacher/Department Head from 2007 to 2010. Matt then served as the Middle School Director from 2010 to 2012 and later became the Assistant Head of School/Director of Academic & Student Programming from 2012 to 2018. Matt also took on the role of Interim Head of School from 2018 to 2019, and finally, they held the position of Assistant Head Of School (COO equivalent) from 2019 to 2022. Before their career in education, they were a Youth Pastor at The Falls Church Anglican from 2004 to 2006.

Matt Johns received their Bachelor's degree in Communication from Penn State University from 1998 to 2002. Matt then pursued a Master's degree in Education at the University of Virginia from 2008 to 2010.
