Anyess Travers is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in program management, research, and policy development. Currently serving as the Associate Director of Special Health Programs at The Carter Center since October 2022, Travers previously worked at The University of Georgia's College of Public Health as a Graduate Research Assistant and Instructor from August 2018 to July 2022. Travers' background includes roles as Program Manager-Consultant at The Global Health Impact Group and Public Health Advisor for the Malaria Zero CDC Foundation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Additionally, Travers has contributed to youth enrichment programs and global health initiatives across various organizations, including the Task Force for Global Health, Refugee Family Services, and the Peace Corps. Travers holds a Doctor of Public Health degree in Health Policy and Management from The University of Georgia, along with an MPH in Preventive Sciences and an MPA in Non-Profit Management from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Middle Tennessee State University.
