Gary D Light, DMD, is a highly experienced dentist and managing partner at Light & Conforti, DMDs, LLC, specializing in restorative and reconstructive dental treatments, including dental implants and cosmetic dentistry, with a distinguished reputation as a "Top Dentist" recognized by peers. Serving as the team dentist for the Providence Bruins Hockey Team since 2000, Gary D Light provides care for traumatic injuries and restorative dental needs. Additionally, since 1988, Gary D Light has contributed as an examiner for the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments/North East Board of Dental Examiners, holding the position of examiner captain, and previously served as a consultant dentist for the Community College of Rhode Island Dental Assisting Program. Gary D Light also held leadership roles within the RI Board of Dental Examiners. Academic credentials include a DMD from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and an ACT Certification in Leadership and Performance Coaching from Brown University School of Professional Studies.

The Commission on Dental Competency Assessments, the Western Regional Examining Board and Council of Interstate Testing Agencies are now CDCA-WREB-CITA. We are the principal resource for development, innovation and independent 3rd party administration of Competency Assessments for the Oral Health professions. In 1969, the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners (NERB) was founded to facilitate the licensure examination process for candidates and eliminate the need for repetition of state board clinical examinations. The NERB quickly expanded from its original 8 member state/jurisdictions, eventually growing to include 24 member states/jurisdictions. In 2014, member states stretched from Maine to Hawaii, Oregon to Florida and Wisconsin to Mississippi. As a nonprofit, independent corporation, comprised of a consortium of member dental boards, the NERB sought to rename itself with a new name that more aptly reflected all of its members and its ongoing mission to further establish common examination standards, as well as the diversity of the types of assessments we offer state dental boards. On January 9th, 2015 the NERB became the Commission on Dental Competency Assessments. Our organization remains committed to serving boards of dentistry by designing and administering assessments that are based on sound principles of testing and measurement. We are pledged to excellence, integrity and fairness.
