James Behnke is currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer at the Center for Victims of Torture. Prior to this, James worked at TCF Financial Corporation for a decade in various roles including Vice President, Manager Corporate Accounting, and Operational Controller. James also has experience as an Adjunct Faculty at Rasmussen College and has held financial roles at companies such as First Equity Mortgage and Mojito Inc. James holds a Master of Business Taxation degree from the University of Minnesota and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

The Center for Victims of Torture works toward a future in which torture ceases to exist and its victims have hope for a new life. We are an international nonprofit dedicated to healing survivors of torture. We provide direct care for those who have been tortured, train partners around the world who can prevent and treat torture, and advocate for human rights and an end to torture. CVT's mission is to heal the wounds of torture on individuals, their families and their communities and to end torture worldwide. CVT is headquartered in St. Paul, MN. In the US, we have offices in Washington DC and Atlanta. We also have offices in Jordan, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.
