Amy Labenz has a diverse range of work experience. Amy began their career in 2002 as the Director of Outreach and Vice President for Forgotten Children of Eastern Europe, where they worked on projects to support an orphanage in Ukraine. Amy also held roles as a Research Assistant and Lawyering Teaching Assistant at New York University.
In 2008, Amy worked as a Summer Associate at Balestriere Lanza PLLC and Thomas M Lancia PLLC, where they drafted legal documents and assisted in a potential class action. Amy then interned at the Legal Aid Society as a Legal Intern, where they conducted legal research and participated in settlement negotiations.
In 2011, Amy became the Chief Operating Officer at Personalized Medicine LLC, where they collaborated with team members to bring genetic testing and counseling to a mass market. Amy also held roles as the Assistant Producer at GF2045 and as the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, and Executive Producer at the Machine Intelligence Research Institute.
From 2014 to 2016, Amy worked as an Of Counsel at Goodman & Hurwitz, P.C., advocating for criminal justice reform. Most recently, they served as the Head of Events at The Centre for Effective Altruism. Throughout their career, Amy has demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills, as well as a commitment to social causes.
Amy Labenz received their BA in Foreign Service from Alma College in 2006. Amy then pursued their JD from New York University School of Law from 2006 to 2009. Prior to that, they completed their high school education at Chippewa Valley High School from 1998 to 2002.
