Catherine Low

Catherine Low has extensive experience in community engagement and leadership within the effective altruism movement. Currently serving as Community Liaison and Groups and Community Health Associate at the Centre for Effective Altruism since February 2020, Catherine has also contributed to WANBAM as a Member of the Board of Directors since September 2019, and has held roles with Effective Altruism New Zealand as Community Builder and Trustee since 2016. Previous positions include Resource Coordinator at Rethink Charity and Manager at Students For High-Impact Charity where responsibilities included community management and curriculum development. Catherine's foundational experience includes a decade-long role as a Science, Physics, and Ethics Teacher at Rangi Ruru Girls' School. Academically, Catherine holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Melbourne.
