Maria Defazio

Maria DeFazio has a diverse work experience in the field of design and creative services. Maria started their career as a Creative Intern at Feinstein Kean Healthcare in 2006. From there, they worked as an On-site Freelance Designer at The Pomerantz Agency. In 2008, they joined Hornercom as a Graphic Designer and later became a Senior Designer, where they created designs and campaigns for various industries and managed print production. In 2013, Maria joined Paragraph, Inc as a Senior Designer & Copywriter, taking on responsibilities such as delivering thoughtful designs and copywriting, and developing both print and digital content. Maria then moved on to become an Art Director at the same company, where they were in charge of all aspects of the creative process. In 2018, Maria became the Director of Mentorship at AIGA Philadelphia and worked until 2021. Currently, they are the Creative Director at The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia, managing a team of designers and overseeing digital and print designs for the Chamber and its affiliates. Throughout their career, Maria has also owned their own business, DeFazio Design, offering freelance design and copywriting services to a range of clients.

Maria DeFazio attended Syracuse University from 2003 to 2007, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Graphic Design and English. In September 2016, they obtained a certification in UX Design from Springboard.
