Alvenia Scarborough Announced as Chemours SVP of Corporate Communications

Chemistry company The Chemours Company (Chemours) has announced Alvenia Scarborough will be its new senior vice president, corporate communications and chief brand officer. Ms. Scarborough will assume the position on October 1, 2020, and lead the company’s communications, advance its corporate narrative and growth strategies, as well as its corporate responsibility commitments. "Alvenia has already made significant contributions to building our corporate reputation and business growth,” said Chemours president and chief executive officer, Mark Vergnano. “I am looking forward to her bringing her limitless passion and deep expertise to our leadership team and her new role leading our corporate communications and brand marketing efforts, elevating our people and the industry-leading solutions that make us a different kind of chemistry company.” Ms. Scarborough is currently Chemours’ Senior Director, Corporate Communications and Brand Marketing, and has more than 20 years of communications experience. She has expertise in leading brand marketing strategies, corporate, media and employee communications, digital marketing and social media, including at leading companies such as Newell Rubbermaid, UPS and DuPont. “This is such a pivotal time for our company, and we have such an exciting story to tell,” said Ms. Scarborough. “We are advancing our corporate responsibility commitments, growing our people, partnering even more closely with our communities, and delivering innovative solutions that are anticipating the changing needs of our customers, shaping industries and improving the way we live.”
