Andrea Sáenz has extensive work experience in various leadership positions. Andrea is currently serving as the President & CEO of The Chicago Community Trust since November 2022. Prior to this, they were the Interim President & CEO of the same organization from July 2022 to October 2022. Before joining The Chicago Community Trust, Andrea worked as the Chief Operating Officer from 2018 to 2022. Andrea also held the position of First Deputy Commissioner & Chief Strategy Officer at the Chicago Public Library from 2012 to 2018 and Chief of Staff at the Chicago Public Schools from 2011 to 2012. Andrea has experience working at the federal level as well, having served as a Policy Strategist in the Office of Career & Technical Education at the U.S. Department of Education from 2010 to 2011. Andrea has also held leadership roles at the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement and Congreso de Latinos Unidos.
Andrea Sáenz started their education at Reed College in 1991, where they studied Philosophy. Andrea then transferred to Scripps College in 1993 and completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Latin American Studies in 1995. After that, Andrea pursued further education at the University of Pennsylvania, where they obtained a Master of Public Administration degree between 2004 and 2006.
