Saaema Alavi

Saaema Alavi is an experienced professional in design and construction management, currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner at the Chicago Department of Aviation for O'Hare and Midway International Airports since July 2020. In this role, Saaema oversees all design activities for various projects, focusing on project controls and supervising design personnel. Previously, Saaema held positions as the Coordinating Architect for the City of Chicago, managing airport improvement projects, and as Tenant Development Manager at Unison Consulting, Inc., where oversight of concessionaire design and construction activities was key. Additional experience includes teaching Islamic Arts, Architecture, and Calligraphy at the Muslim Leadership Academy and providing project management consulting in healthcare at eCatalyst Consulting. Saaema holds a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics from Oregon Health and Science University.
