Jim Benton

Jim Benton is a seasoned software engineer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in software development and technical leadership. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Discord since August 2022, Jim has also co-founded The Chicago Tool Library, promoting equitable access to tools in the community. Previous roles include Senior Software Engineer at Truss, where Jim led a development team and improved accessibility processes, Technical Lead and Instructor at Launch School, and Web Developer at Google, contributing to key projects and advocating for best practices. Jim's career began at Columbia College Chicago, where a Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Multimedia was earned.
