Liz Breen is an experienced event organizer and community liaison with a strong background in nonprofit management and volunteer coordination. Currently, Liz serves as the Lead Event Organizer, Community Liaison, and Volunteer Manager at the Chiditarod Foundation, where responsibilities include overseeing a team of over 350 volunteers and managing various community events aimed at addressing food scarcity. Additionally, Liz holds the position of Associate Wedding Planner at Naturally Yours Events Inc. and has previously contributed to Pyrotechniq as a manager and performer. With a BA in Psychology, Education, and Anthropology from Lawrence University, Liz has developed skills in client relations, event planning, and team leadership throughout a diverse career that includes significant involvement with the Burning Man organization and other community-focused initiatives.

The CHIditarod Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization created to help solve Chicago’s hunger challenges. The CHIditarod Foundation seeks to alleviate hunger and solve the root causes of hunger through creativity, engagement and direct action. We accomplish these goals by creating unique, creative, participatory events that raise funds (like CHIditarod!), and providing grants to local 501(c)(3) organizations that share our hunger-fighting mission.
