The Children's Center for Communication-Beverly School for the Deaf
Founded in 1876, Beverly School for the Deaf is one of the oldest schools for Deaf and hard of Hearing children in the U.S. While much has changed since then, the school remains committed to providing an exceptional education for children who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or who have other special communication and learning needs. In the 1980's, the school expanded its educational opportunities to include children with many secondary issues including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, developmental delays, and physical challenges. In 2008, to more accurately reflect our mission and student community, the school’s name was changed to The Children’s Center for Communication/Beverly School for the Deaf. Today, the school and its two support programs The Children’s Center for Communication (CCC) and The Beverly School for the Deaf (BSD) are more diverse than ever, serving close to 150 children and their families from 40 communities.
