Selma N. Ward

Selma N. Ward is the current Chief Executive Officer at The Children's Center of Hamden. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Connecticut Community Colleges from September 2015 to March 2022, teaching the study of accounting and its related financial practices. Selma also has experience as a Chief Financial Officer and Compliance Officer at Perception Programs, a private non-profit behavioral health agency in Northeastern Connecticut, from August 2015 to June 2020. In this role, they were responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the organization, participating in the development of the corporation's plans and programs, and evaluating and advising on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action. Selma's experience in both academic and practical settings makes their uniquely qualified for their current role as CEO at The Children's Center of Hamden.

Dr. Selma N. Ward has a Doctor of Philosophy in Public from Liberty University, a Master of Business Administration in Finance from American InterContinental University, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from American InterContinental University. Selma is also NCVE certified from the National Council for Behavioral Health and has a certification from the Health Care Compliance Association in Certification Healthcare Compliance (CHC).
