Michael Gillespie

SVP, Clinical Operations at Boston Children's Hospital

In April 2012, Michael Gillespie joined Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) as Vice President of Clinical Services, bringing with him more than 25 years of administrative experience. At Boston Children’s, Michael collaborates directly with department administrators, chiefs and physicians to develop and implement a comprehensive strategic direction for many of Boston Children’s clinical programs. In addition to supporting the hospital’s clinical departments and their respective foundations, Michael has direct managerial and budgetary responsibility for the Surgical Subspecialties, Neurosciences, Anesthesia and Critical Care, Laboratory Medicine, Pathology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Health Technology Management and Respiratory Therapy. Michael also leads the Strategic Implementation Launch Team which is focused on clinical growth for innovative programs.

Prior to coming to Boston Children’s, Michael spent most of his career at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). He has a BA from Tufts University and a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Hospital Administration from the Yale School of Medicine.
