The Children's Scholarship Fund
Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) was founded in 1998 by the late Ted Forstmann and John Walton. CSF provides children of low-income families with tuition assistance in grades K-8, and supports expanding educational opportunities for all children. Since our inception, the lives of 217,434 children across the United States have been changed for the better by CSF scholarships worth more than $1.15 billion. This school year, more than 35,000 children are using CSF scholarships nationwide, including more than 7,100 students in New York City. CSF scholarships would not be possible without the generosity of our donors, the efforts of CSF partner programs, and the sacrifices of the families themselves, who pay - on average - 50% of their children’s tuition.
