Dr James Miles McIfa

Dr. James Miles MCIfA is an experienced professional in the field of archaeology and digital heritage management. Currently serving as the Cathedral and Church Buildings Data Manager for The Church of England since November 2017, Dr. Miles oversees the planning portal's operations and long-term development. Additionally, in the role of Digital Projects and Outreach Manager, significant national digital projects related to 16,000 Anglican churches are managed. As a director at Archaeovision, expertise in general management and international representation is applied, with a diverse client base that includes prestigious institutions such as the British Museum and Historic England. Previous roles include Executive Officer and Chair with CAA International and CAA-UK, respectively, focusing on collaboration between archaeology and computational methods. Dr. Miles holds a PhD in Computational Archaeology from the University of Southampton, supported by a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in the same field.
