Simon Cross holds a DPhil in Philosophical Theology from the University of Oxford and has extensive experience in technology ethics and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Senior Subject Matter Expert and AI Policy Lead for the Church of England since September 2023, Simon previously worked as a Senior Researcher and Policy Consultant at the Diocese of Oxford, where significant research into technology, particularly AI, was conducted. Earlier experience includes a role as Captain for Thomas Cook Airlines Limited, where leadership and team management were key responsibilities. Academic accomplishments include multiple Master's degrees from Durham University in Theology and Science, as well as Theology and Religion, alongside a remarkable completion of a PhD in three years at Oxford.
