Alyssa Katz is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in investigative reporting and editorial leadership focused on New York City. Currently serving as Executive Editor at THE CITY NY since February 2019, Katz leads high-impact accountability reporting, hosts podcasts, and engages in public discourse on local policy. Katz has previously held roles as Deputy Editor at THE CITY NY, Editorial Board Member at the New York Daily News, and founding editor of The New York World at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. Additional experience includes teaching positions at Hunter College and New York University, editorial roles at City Limits and the Center for Reproductive Rights, and significant freelance work, including authorship of notable books. Katz holds a BA in Arts and Ideas in the Humanities from the University of Michigan and was a Charles H. Revson Fellow at Columbia University.
