Claudia Irizarry Aponte

Claudia Irizarry Aponte serves as an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY and is a senior reporter at THE CITY NY, specializing in labor and work issues. Prior reporting experience includes community reporting in Brooklyn and The Bronx, as well as general assignment reporting for Philadelphia Media Network. Claudia has also worked as an analyst for NewsGuard Technologies, where responsibilities involved assessing Spanish-language news media for credibility, and contributed as a digital producer for NPR's Latino USA. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Journalism from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez. Additional studies include internships focused on mass media and a summer abroad program in Italy.
